Floral Trends of 2022

In 2022. we will see more weddings occur than we have in any year since 1984. With an estimated 2.5 million weddings happening this year, each couple will be pushing to showcase their unique style and personality. Couples express themselves in the most unique and personal ways – more than ever! That means trends might not actually be trends and that doing something original is the new “it” trend. With that being said, we have pulled some of the floral trends that we expect to see this year!

Bold and Bright

While white and pastels florals will remain timeless, this years couples are wanting brighter and bolder. Many of our brides have been planning their wedding through the pandemic giving them time to get inspired by weddings from all over the world. I am loving pops of varying shades and hues of uniquely-colored florals. If you’re going the more monochromatic route, try various sizes of flowers and different shades of the same color to add texture and depth to what could be considered a boring color pallet. Weddings in 2022 will have much more color than ever before with everything from citrus to muted autumn tones.

Texture

In recent years, we have seen couples open to the idea of having a variety of blooms and greenery in their floral arrangements. Roses are taking a backseat to ranunculuses, queen anne’s lace, snap dragons, and tulips. Couples are leaning towards heavy greenery, large floral installations, and much more variety than our typical roses and hydrangea arrangements. I am excited to see the mix of texture and bright bold florals in larger arrangements.

Flowers dont always grow in a picture perfect shape. Couples are embracing the natural organic shape of flowers and using that idea within their floral arrangements. We are seeing loose, flowing, organically arranged pieces that leave more room for artistic style.

As couples strive to be one of a kind, they are becoming more creative than ever with their ceremony backdrops. Pipe and drape and gold hops are a thing of the past. Couples are now opting for custom built structures and full floral structures. I cant wait to see how floral designers use the mix of old and new to showcase arches in 2022.
