We cannot wait to share all of these fantastic individuals and businesses with you this year. This week, we are spotlighting a local catering company, Happy Catering.

About Happy Catering

In 1992, Vassilli “Bill” Bouloukos decided to leave Corporate America and follow a different dream, a dream of opening his own restaurant. This was the beginning of a long and prominent career in the restaurant industry.  After opening his restaurants, Bouloukos found that there was a demand for catered business lunches and even had people asking about weddings. He realized that wedding catering could be the best of both worlds, planning for the large events and the satisfaction of seeing guests enjoy his food and service.

As Bouloukos was growing his catering business, he had heard that his first restaurant, Andy’s on the Green, was changing hands again and he stopped by to meet the new owner, Robbie Dyson. Dyson began working some large wedding events with Bouloukos, and they both realized they worked well together. Dyson decided to sell his restaurant and become partners with Bouloukos. Dyson brought his operations knowledge to the table and Bouloukos’ role serves as the front man who focuses on sales and marketing side of the business, so they complement each other well.

Today, Happy Catering takes pride in their quality food and going above and beyond for their clients. They partner with over 20 local venues and thrive on the relationships they have built with local vendors.   “Our guest’s testimonial of our great food and customer service is our best affirmation to other clients of our quality and service, our reviews say it all. Getting to Know Happy Catering

How many years have you been in business?

We will be celebrating 30 years in business this year.

Why did you decide to work in the wedding industry?

We first started with owning restaurants in downtown Birmingham in the early 90’s. From the restaurants we would cater lunch to many of the office buildings. We would always get compliments on our food and service. Along with that, future brides, mother of the brides or friends would ask if we would ever consider catering a wedding? We say why not! And here we are today having as much fun as we did 30 years ago.

What makes your service stand out from others in your field?

We have a wonderful team here that can make the wedding menu planning and day-of execution seamless. We really feel that our team goes above and beyond to make this a fun and easy process for each bride! We also try to tailor the menu to match the bride and groom! We are honored to be invited to the wedding day celebration and basically become a part of the family!

What is the number 1 piece of advice you would like to share with couples specific to weddings in 2022?

There are more weddings happening this year than there have been in over 30 years, so book your vendors as early as you can. Wedding planning can be stressful, but if you go ahead and book your big vendors first, it will be much less stressful in the coming months when you’re getting your details together because you will have the wedding professionals there that can make your life so much easier and your wedding day perfect!

Is there anything you would like to share with our Windwood Couples past or future?

There are so many decisions to make when you’re wedding planning, but if you choose the right vendors, your planning process can be so much easier! Windwood is a gorgeous venue with a caring and professional staff, so
